Colophon
“Colophon” comes from the Greek “κολοφων,” meaning ‘a summit,’ ‘top,’ ‘finishing.’ It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication, often found on the last few pages of a book.
Typography
The logo was created by Elise Whitaker from LeLe designs, and was set in LinoType’s Shelly Script and Emigre’s Mrs. Eaves. The website body text is set in Verdana; headers, links, quotes and navigation in Georgia.
Design
Neoteric Design designed, developed, and hosts this site. Neoteric creates business blogs and redesigns websites with a focus on business goals, customer needs, site usability and engaging design.
Technical
Adobe Photoshop, Omnigraffle Professional, and TextMate were used to create this website. The site runs on PHP. All content is maintained using MovableType 3. A range of useful plugins were used, including Multiblog and MTSQL. SmartyPants and Textile 2 are used for text wrangling. The site is authored using structural XHTML, and complies with the 1.0 transitional web standards as set by the W3C.
