I was at Bridal Market in New York earlier this week. If you don’t know what Bridal Market is, it is the time of year that the Bridal designers show their new collections. (Blog to follow next week of some of the shows I attended). I also got to attend some pretty fabulous parties (Yes, so much to share, will blog those pictures next week as well). Oh, yes you need to keep coming back to the blog!
But, today, I am blogging about my amazing experience seeing a taping of The Martha Stewart show. Yes, THE Martha Stewart! My friend Stephanie Frazier Grimm from Couture Parties called me and said, guess what, we are going to the Martha show. I screamed into the phone I was so excited. So we headed out on Tuesday morning in New York City. Below is a picture out front of us waiting for the doors to open.
And how excited were we when we got into the studio in our reserved seats and see Darcy Miller, the editor of the Martha Stewart Weddings and she invites us into the green room to see behind the scenes of the show. Below is a picture of me with Randy from Say Yes to the Dress who I know well from the Engage conferences.
Darcy was on the show to talk about destination weddings at Sandals by Martha Stewart. There will be a special segment on the wedding at the new Sandals Emerald Bay in Bahamas they did for one lucky couple on The Style Network on Saturday. Their wedding recap can be viewed here.
Below is a picture of Darcy wedding ready for the show.
The backstage tour and being able to see the set was so neat (and not only neat aka cool but everything about the set is so neat as in clean and tidy). The stage set has full running water, stoves, ovens and the stone wall that outlines their greenhouse is actually real stone from one of Martha’s properties. The drawers alone inspire me to get home and look at my own drawers and make sure I am organized. Crafting and cooking is easier when you are that organized. I loved how the tools were all marked so well.
Some of the gorgeous pictures of the Vision in White line that you can have at Sandals are below. What a crisp and clean wedding look for the bride wanting to get married on the beach but still have an elegant and classic white wedding.
And below is the picture that we got to take WITH Martha Stewart and Darcy Miller on the set. So cool! Hands down one of the cooler things I have done in my career as a wedding planner.
