New Year’s Eve in Chicago

Like many of us, I am currently wondering what to do on New Year’s Eve. We typically pick the more mellow route of dinner at home or maybe out at our favorite local place, Piazza Bella, located in Roscoe Village. They still have some reservations left and Tina’s lasagna will knock your socks off.

For the more adventurous here are some things happening around town we thought sounded fun.

Spend the weekend at The Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago. They are currently offering some great winter deals for spending the weekend with them.  They have a great dinner offering at Sixteen with a 3 course dinner with seatings from 5:30 P.M.-8:30 P.M. which is $125 per person or $175 per person with the wine pairing.  Or from 9:30 P.M. until the New Year for $75 per person you can attend their dessert party with a gorgeous dessert buffet, party favors and a champagne toast.

Rock in the New Year at The Rock, The Hard Rock that is. Their Ciroc New Years Eve Party is hosted by Pete Wentz from the Fallout Boys. Includes a full premium bar and buffet style food by China Grill. Megan Taylor of Fig Media will also be spinning that evening. I bet his wife, Ashlee Simpson will also be attending.

One of the biggest parties will be the Q101 Rock Resolution Party at Navy Pier’s Grand Ballroom. Sublime will be performing as well as many other’s as this sure to be fun party hosted by my favorite radio station in Chicago.

Wanting something a bit more mellow?

Head down to the Millennium Park Ice Skating Rink which is open until 8pm and then grab a snack at the Park Grill Chicago. Make sure to secure your reservation which you can do directly on their website as it is sure to be a busy night.

Steppenwolf Theater is currently showing Edward Albee’s “Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and it shows at 7:30 P.M. When I checked this morning there were still seats available.

Whatever you do this New Year’s Eve, please be safe out there and have a blast! If you are wanting to book a car to drive you to and from your party or dinner, I recommend you call today to book a safe ride home. Cabs are always very hard to get on New Year’s Eve in Chicago.
