That is a great question. It is a good idea to have selected your wedding shoes prior to your first fitting of your wedding dress which will typically happen two to three months before your wedding. Start looking for your wedding shoes about four to six months in advance of your wedding.
My favorite shop in Chicago for wedding shoes is James Ciccotti’s salon. His shoes are all made in Italy and are fashionable but also comfortable. He has everything from five inch heels down to comfortable flats for your wedding day and sling backs and sandals. He also carries gorgeous handbags and brooches which you can put on your wedding bouquet or on your wedding dress.
Not in Chicago? There are many great places to shop for wedding shoes online. My favorite is Zappos in their wedding section as their return policy is good and also very easy. Another great spot for online shopping is My Glass Slipper. They carry many lines of shoes from very high end to comfortable and affordable.
It is a good idea to bring in a picture of your dress when you are wedding shoe shopping and remember that Comfort is Key!
