Wedding at Hotel Palomar

I am so excited to share this wedding with you today. I loved working with Laurel and Dave on their wedding at the Hotel Palomar and adored how Laurel wanted to have so many cute and personal touches on the wedding day. One of my favorite parts of the wedding day was the groom’s cake by Tipsy Cake and the wonderful red florals by Alexandra at Exquisite Designs. And with Sarah Alair as the photographer, I knew the pictures would be just amazing as you see below.

Laurel and Dave chose to do pictures around Chicago prior to their ceremony so we knew we had to make their first meeting special. We chose the terrace of the Hotel Palomar and even though it was windy, it provided some giggles for the bride and groom when her veil took flight (but thankfully was secured well to her hair).

Dave surprised Laurel with a gorgeous watch from Cartier and it just so happened the box and ribbon matched the wedding colors. Planned by the groom? It sure was!

The florals by Alexandra Jusino of Exquisite Designs were so gorgeous. Laurel had many floral allergies so Alexandra had to be strategic in making sure Laurel would have no allergic reaction. She even send Laurel home with a mini bouquet prior to the wedding to make sure that Laurel would not sneeze.

The ceremony and reception all took place inside of the Hotel Palomar’s gorgeous ballroom and 150 family and friends attended the wedding to celebrate with Laurel and Dave.

The detail on their red and white invitations by a friend of hers was so gorgeous that Laurel wanted to have that also appear in her wedding cake.

And Laurel had some planned surprises of her own. She surprised Dave with a fun groom’s cake as any Air Force Pilot would love! The cake, designed by Naomi Levine of Tipsy Cake had a look alike groom as the pilot and even had landing lights that operated!
