CHRISSY & TYLER
This Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel wedding had a celebratory and fun feel to it from the start. Chrissy and Tyler live out East but wanted to get married where Chrissy grew up in her hometown of Chicago. They chose the Renaissance Downtown for a classic Chicago feel.
Every detail felt classic and elegant. The reception embraced sophisticated fall colors, and we used candlelight to warm up the reception ballroom.
The group was so excited to celebrate, and the energy was contagious from the moment we walked in the door. Guests loved the backdrop we ordered for them to stop by to take pictures and selfies. And, this group loved to dance! They packed the dance floor from the minute the doors opened with tunes by the Larry King Orchestra.
PLANNER’S FAVORITE DETAILS FROM ALI
I loved the tradition of the Slovakian Bridal “Dollar Dance.” Guests form a circle around the bride, and the entrance to the circle is “guarded” by the Maid of Honor. Guests may form a line to pay (the money goes into Maid of Honor’s apron) to dance with the Bride after which they get a glass of champagne. The last person to dance with the Bride is the Groom who whisks her off her feet out of the reception!
I also loved that the bride and groom took time to take photos with their college school flags with all those that attended the wedding that were alumni.
A note from Chrissy and Tyler:
I wanted to say thank you for everything; our wedding day felt like a fairy tale! We were so happy with our choice of the Renaissance and with our vendors!!
