Summer wedding season is upon us! With this comes questions from clients and friends asking when their invitations should be mailed out to their guests.

Short answer: Wedding invitations should be mailed out six to eight weeks before the wedding date.

Most couples are choosing to mail save the dates out so six to eight weeks is the time you should mail your invitations out. If you have not done a save the date, by all means it is okay to send out 9 or even 10 weeks in advance. But if you are having a wedding in your hometown they should never mail out sooner than 10 weeks out.

For Destination Weddings it is okay to mail out a bit earlier (twelve weeks out is my preferred time to mail those).
